Asin was born in Cochin, Kerala, India within the Malayalam-speaking Thottumkal family which consists of her businessman dad, Joseph, and mom, Dr. Seline, who practices in Ernakulam. Asin attended Naval Public School in Cochin as a child, and following her Matriculation, she was accepted at St. Theresa's High School. To further pursue her education in the Arts Faculty, after successfully getting the High Secondary School Certificate she was enrolled in St. Theresa's College. Following her graduation with an B.A. English Literature, she went on to earn a B.A. Additionally, she assisted her father in his venture. She's participated with various functions in Southern India and attributes her success due to her parents. Her entrepreneurial spirit has been recognized since she was only a teen.
